Newsletter 101 – January 2013

Hi everyone,
Firstly I trust you all had a wonderful refreshing break and enjoyable holiday season. Miss Molly and I vacationed at home this year – got a few projects out of the way in leisurely fashion between reading some good books, watching old movies, lots of walks and numerous long lunches with friends. Not surprisingly, the consequence of leisure and long lunches is an extra 3 kg which needs urgent attention. I have access to a programme called Healthpointe which is extremely healthy and works very well so starting on the weight loss part of the programme tomorrow.

My main wish for everyone for 2013 is for great health. Eating lots of organic fruits and vegetables, drinking purified water, and taking top quality organic supplements are high on my priority list. As well as fruits and vegetables I can also supply a water purification system, supplements, and a vegetarian protein powder.

Add a dash of Tabasco sauce and season to taste with
pepper and salt.
Serve with crackers, triangles of toast, chippies or whatever else you fancy.

Here is a Turkish bean recipe which I found most delicious. There were lots of beans in my last vegebox so will try this dish myself.

Beans with Olive Oil

500 gr beans
50 ml extra virgin olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, chopped
1 tbsp sugar
2 tomatoes, diced
1 tbsp crushed tomato
1 ½ cups water

Wash beans, trim both ends and shave along sides. In a large saucepan place the onion and olive oil. Cook together for 3-4 minutes, add the beans, garlic, salt, sugar, tomatoes and crushed tomato. Pour in 1 cup water. Leave lid half open and cook for 35-40 minutes, add another half cup of water midway through.

Let cool for half an hour then place in a serving dish. Pour in a little more olive oil and let cool in the frig.

This dish is served cold as a side salad.
